Brachymetatarsia
This is a congenital deformity that most commonly affected the 4th metatarsal bone. The deformity causes a shorten 4th metatarsal bone causing a short toe due to poor development.
Treatment: There are only 2 main ways to surgically correct this problem:
- Bone block with internal fixation.
- External fixation with Distraction osteogenesis, also called callus distraction, callotasis and osteodistraction.
